CITY SC Posse 32 | Goals, Hattricks, Klauss, MLS Records, 1st Place

CITY SC Posse 32 | Goals, Hattricks, Klauss, MLS Records, 1st Place

Six goals. A hat trick. Klauss scores in his return. An MLS record tied. And now first place is on the line.

St. Louis CITY SC just delivered one of the wildest nights in club history, crushing the LA Galaxy 6-2 at Energizer Park and extending its unbeaten run to 20 matches across all competitions, tying the MLS record. Carlo Holse stole the show with a hat trick in the opening 21 minutes, the second-fastest hat trick from the start of a match in MLS history.

Matt and Kev break down everything from the six-goal explosion, Rafael Navarro’s huge night, Lukas MacNaughton getting on the scoresheet, the atmosphere inside Energizer Park, and the perfect ending to the João Klauss return story.

And yes, after predicting it on the last episode, Klauss scored against CITY.

With St. Louis already comfortably ahead, the former CITY striker got his goal, received his ovation, and somehow gave the night an almost storybook ending.

But there is almost no time to celebrate.

CITY turns right around and hosts Western Conference leader Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Wednesday night, with a win putting St. Louis into first place and a result extending the unbeaten run to a standalone MLS record 21 matches.

Matt and Kev discuss the lineup decisions facing Yoann Damet, whether CITY can run back essentially the same XI after such a dominant performance, how to manage minutes during a brutal stretch of matches, and why Rafael Navarro has changed the conversation at striker.

Then it’s prediction time.

Kev sees a clean sheet.

Matt sees more goals.

And CITY has a chance to leave Wednesday night sitting first in the West and alone in MLS history.

Bright: That was impressive. I think we'll just start with that. I'm not quite sure what the heck we just witnessed. but it was a lot of fun, that's for sure.

Kev: You don't get too many games like that, I think, and boy, was it fun. Definitely the most fun game I've been to, I think. certainly in person. It was awesome. It was awesome.

Bright: Yeah, it's definitely up there. I I I remember one other game really well, and I think it was in the first season. I mean it definitely was. I'm pretty it could have been season two. I don't I don't quite remember, but we were playing Kansas City and We it was like a zero zero tie through like the seventieth minute or something like that. And then we scored four goals in the last twenty minutes of the game.

Kev: Yeah.

Bright: Klaus got a brace and he had that one goal that you know it was touch and then volley. It was great. And so that was insane because it was a lot of goals in a short period of time and and towards the end of the game and this one certainly, I mean, right off the bat, right? Under under two

Kev: Yeah.

Bright: minutes we get a goal And then Holsa gets another goal and you're like, holy cow, he's on hat trick watch and we're only whatever it was. I I got the the numbers here, but it was seven minutes into the game or something like that. Yeah, and ended up being the

Kev: I was gonna say within ten minutes, yeah, we were still we're up to nothing, right?

Bright: Yeah, I mean, ended up being the second fastest MLS hat trick in history, which which is pretty cool. I think at twenty-one minutes give or take. the previous record was at sixteen minutes. So a lot of fun. The the park was buzzing. And I wasn't even sure if if I was gonna be there or not, because these were your tickets. You were taking John Boy and I was like, maybe I bring the family. It's a Sunday night game. Weather's gonna be good. So I was looking at tickets and I just couldn't justify the cost with bringing two little kids. I wanted the cost to come down a little bit more. but with the the run of form we've been on, of course we we've now officially tied the record at 20 matches unbeaten across all competitions. That's the MLS record. so I'm I'm not surprised that that ticket prices were a little bit higher. So I ended up buying just two general admission tickets for my wife and I. And then we were standing up in the corner where we were attacking. So great location, opposite of where our seats normally are. So I know you and John were opposite, and we obviously we had a great angle for all the early goals. And I texted you because I think after after the second goal, Klaus was already warming up. And

Kev: Yeah.

Bright: I can't believe that he didn't start to begin with, and I do have some updates on why that was the case. I don't know if you saw that or not, but we kind of joked

Kev: I didn't.

Bright: that there was no way that he starts on the bench in the last podcast episode. Like clearly he's gonna play, he's big, big goal scorer for him. He's scored goals in his last several games. Right.

Kev: You you pay you know? Yeah.

Bright: And then sure enough, he's on the bench. But I thought it was funny. They go down 2-0 and they're like, all right, get Klaus warmed up. So he was warming

Kev: Yeah.

Bright: up on the on the sidelines pretty early on. And and he got a good a good cheer from the crowd just as he started warming up. And he was, you know, giving us thanks and hand waves and all that, which was cool. I immediately went and put a bet down on him to score, hoping that maybe I could get ahead of of the betting odds maybe. so so that bet worked out for me. Unfortunately I didn't have Hulsa down for any.

Kev: Yeah. Yeah, I had the Hulsa first goal scorer hit, you know, like you said, within a minute, basically. So that was awesome. the other one that I put in was the Totland Anytime goal scorer. Cause he was at like plus eight hundred or something. And boy, did he have his chance, right? He did. Had

Bright: He was close. Yeah, he was close.

Kev: his chance. I threw in another one, I think I threw in a Rafa Anytime goal scorer, so he ended up hitting. Or no, it was the next goal scorer at the fifth goal, I think. So I hit on that one as well. and then I tried to put in the Klaus goal scorer or something. it was the next goal scorer, which he missed, but ended up hitting later on, right? So I I had a lot of my bets. A lot of my bets. Felt good.

Bright: Right, right. Yeah, me too. So I I ended up putting money down after the hat trick. I put money down for her Navajo to score two. And yeah, 'cause

Kev: Yeah. There you go.

Bright: I was like, we're gonna score lots of goals in this game. You just had a you just had a feeling

Kev: Feeling.

Bright: and I was like, All right, it was like plus five fifty odds for him to score two at that point. And so I put it down and then of course he gets the the penalty kick, which was great. I was like, that's an easy goal, and now he just needs one goal in the run of play. My only concern was is that that's the one you hit on, right. But

Kev: Yeah, that was the one I that's the one I hit on him the next one. Who I think was number four.

Bright: my only concern was that he was gonna get subbed out. Obviously we got

Kev: Uh-huh.

Bright: the game coming up tomorrow, Wednesday, and a lot of games in a short period of time. You're up at that point four one or something like that. but DeMay, he just doesn't make early substitutions very often. And he didn't in this game either. Eventually, Navajo does come off, Holsa came off. That was all good. I think they played like 70 minutes still, something like that, 79 minutes. But But yeah, I I did end up hitting when he got that second that second goal that just looks so easy. Durkin gets two assists on two great passes. so it was great to see that. on on the Hulsa goal, like, holy cow, perfect. Perfect pass over the top. Hulsa brings it down off the chest and and buries it. Even Hulsa's second goal. was a great pass from N Navajo gets two goals and two assists. And I think he becomes the first city player to get excuse me, four goal contributions in a single game. So

Kev: And not be man of the match.

Bright: yeah, and that's crazy, right? Ulsa

Kev: You know, that's incredible.

Bright: Yeah, Holsa is the man of the match. He ends up being the man of the match day across the entire MLS. but

Kev: Yep. It's all that.

Bright: Navajo also made player or a team of the match day, as did Durkin and DeMay. So we had four four total players and staff represented on the the MLS match day. scoreboard or whatever you want to call it. So pretty cool. And obviously at this point we're getting the recognition. This was a nationally televised game. Taylor Twellman was in town, obviously. He'll be in town again for the Vancouver matchup. I don't know if he's calling the game or if he's just just in town because he wants to see it. I don't know. But

Kev: Yeah. Yep.

Bright: lots of lots of fun. And the we both also called that Klaus was gonna score.

Kev: Was gonna score. Yeah.

Bright: And he did, and it it was kinda almost perfect because we had the game wrapped up. It was gonna be a win. He gets the goal, he gets the standing ovation, and and we felt good cheering on that goal because the game was already over.

Kev: Yeah, it it wasn't like we had a clean sheet going and he broke it up. Yeah. we already let in one, so it did feel right for him to get one in. It it almost felt good to your point because we were

Bright: Yeah.

Kev: so far ahead. It just didn't matter. It was just kind of like an honorary, like, here's your goal. Let's move on.

Bright: Sure.

Kev: Here's your cheer from the crowd. I'm still shocked. Still shocked that he didn't start the game. I almost felt bad for like number seven who started the game and then got pulled within something

Bright: Well

Kev: wrong, right? From what I could tell, but it's like God get the heck outta here, you're no good.

Bright: I went back that night to watch the broadcast actually. And it was I w ended up staying up till like midnight. I don't know. I was just riding riding a high and I was like, well I wanna see

Kev: Ride the wave, yeah.

Bright: I wanna see what what the the commentating is on the match and stuff like that. And I guess they said he tweaked his hamstring. So

Kev: No, get out of town.

Bright: Yeah, so I guess that's maybe like he still seemed like he was running around okay. But he all he knew

Kev: Yeah.

Bright: he was coming out. He may have said something to the to the bench. So it may have been something like that. But I guess Vanny, the the Galaxy coach, he came out and said that they're trying to play for their next two matches, which are home matchups against other teams closer in the standings to them. So not that they

Kev: Yeah.

Bright: They weren't prioritizing this game, but they they kind of were like, Hey, we're on the road here. Yeah. Yeah, right, right. So worked in our favor, I guess.

Kev: We kinda know what what way this is going. Yeah. I mean that's that's pretty awesome, I guess, that we've got that squad where people are looking at us like, Well, maybe we'll win the next two games, you know? That's not worries so much about this game. it's pretty awesome.

Bright: That is true. Cause yeah, in years past it was certainly like, yeah, this is a beat of this is a game we should win. Right, yeah, for sure. So right.

Kev: We we were that game, yeah. Yeah, it maybe it was let's not worry about that game 'cause we're winning it, you know. Now it's let's not worry about that game 'cause we're gonna lose it. So that was pretty cool. I

Bright: That's true. That's true.

Kev: was surprised that we didn't take more subs earlier in the game. I'm

Bright: Yeah.

Kev: trying to remember when Durkin had his yellow. I feel like it was in the first half. So I thought he was gonna come out you know, basically at at the at the break, right? That we were gonna bring in fall, push up Pulvora maybe into more of a defensive mid position there. and then we did. But it was

Bright: And we did eventually make those substitutions, right? Fall does come in, Orasco comes in. Yeah, it's late. So let me run through the overall

Kev: It was later. It was

Bright: timeline for you here, right? So we get the goal at two minutes. We get the Hulsa's second goal at seven minutes, third goal at twenty-one minutes. Klaus had already came in, so he came in at eleven minutes, which is you just don't see that very often, right?

Kev: Yeah, yeah.

Bright: Galaxy get the goal at the 32nd minute and then you get in you're getting a little nervous. You're like 3-1, okay, this is they get the next goal and and all of a sudden this is this is a game. Durkin picks up the yellow card at

Kev: I was mad.

Bright: yeah, not worried. Durkin picks up the yellow card at 39 minutes, and it was definitely a yellow. Navajo gets the penalty geek kick goal at 45 minutes. So right at the end, right, we're up four to one. And we were still

Kev: Mm-hmm.

Bright: pressuring. I mean, this was Matan, this happened right in front of us. Was definitely a foul, clear as day. So so that was good. And and then McNaughton. comes out of nowhere at 45 plus seven. And that seals the game. I mean, one, this was a a great play, great header. It kind of makes up for not pressuring on the galaxy goal a little bit earlier in the game, right? But you're up five one now at halftime and the game is over. Yeah. So so that

Kev: Yeah. Again, that's why like you're surprised we didn't make some of those earlier moves closer

Bright: Right.

Kev: to half. Like I understand holding on to a couple subs, but I I think I would have came out with two right away.

Bright: So even even though we didn't make him at halftime, you're like, okay, let let play for another ten minutes. Well, Navajo gets his second to make it six to one in the fifty third minute. At that point, you gotta get him out of there, right? I mean, the

Kev: Yeah. Yeah.

Bright: only reason that you keep him on is that you might end up with two hat tricks in one game, which that doesn't happen unless you're seven, right? Eight years old.

Kev: Yep. Yep.

Bright: it's pretty pretty rare probably. So so I don't know. They leave him in. Marco Rus comes in at the 60th minute. So that was another one. Kind of surprising that he didn't start. So that yeah, they make a couple of their their big substitutions at that point. sixtieth minute paint still comes in. For Taylor. I I don't know. Like those those are three guys that you think are starting the game for the galaxy. Wallum picks up a yellow card in the 63rd. Klaus gets his goal in the 71st to make it six to two. And then we take out Durkin immediately after and bring in Fall. but But you'll see like we don't it's not until the eightieth minute that we take out Hulsa and Navarro. So they play essentially the entire game. Same with Wallum. Wallem comes out at the 80th minute. We bring in a Roscoe, and then Downs comes in at the 90th minute for Matan. So let's before we before we go in, we'll have to start thinking about how that affects our lineup Wednesday night.

Kev: Yeah.

Bright: But I wanted to go over just a couple of other quick stats and a couple of other quick things. The only other hat trick in city history was Klaus. And it came against the LA Galaxy. So

Kev: Explain.

Bright: kinda interesting. The galaxy have yet to beat City across all are seasons, so kind of interesting stat there. I think when you look at the overall stats, and we don't need to run through them all, but some of them may have been a little misleading, 'cause once you go up by that many, right, then it it can change it can changes the game, right? But still

Kev: Yeah. Yep. It changes the game. It's completely different. Yeah. So from a position standpoint and yeah.

Bright: Yeah, we still had, I think we had seven shots on target, six goals. I mean, an amazing conversion rate. It this is still showing us at 62% possession. I thought it was a little bit closer than that at the end, but it's we've had a couple of days for them to reconcile everything. So what was showing on the broadcast may be different now. pass accuracy for 59%.

Kev: Yeah, mine mine's showing fifty nine percent, I think. So

Bright: Okay. All right. This shows 62. Pass accuracy 90% for us. But but really it's the shots and shots on goal. That was that was the big difference. That they're showing eight shots, five on goal. But I also saw like the the high danger chances. Like all of ours were high danger chances and theirs were not. I think only the two goals were high danger chances. So so pretty good, pretty exciting there. I we can any last comments on that matchup. Glad that we all got to go to the game.

Kev: It was awesome. It was not a game to miss, that's for sure. So it was just a perfect Sunday matchup and gotta show off the team to the to the nation. And awesome. Awesome.

Bright: Yep, yep. Lots of fun. Lots of fun. Glad we made it. Now I'm definitely not making it Wednesday. I will be out of the country. you have tickets and I you're going with your wife, right? Don't give me that look. You know you have the tickets.

Kev: Yeah. Yep, taking the wife.

Bright: That'll be good. And I haven't looked at the weather, but what's the weather supposed to be? I mean, are we is it gonna cool down?

Kev: I think it is supposed to rain. at some point, but I think it's

Bright: yeah, eighty six percent chance of rain. Yeah.

Kev: yeah, I I know it's definitely raining like throughout tonight. I just wasn't sure about what tomorrow night was gonna look like.

Bright: Yeah, right now it's looking ugly. But only seventy-four. I mean ninety-four is the high today, which is insane this time of year. But then finally it looks like we're gonna cool it down a little bit and we're probably done with the ninety degree weather here in the middle of October. so at least it'll be cool, so as long as the rain hopefully around game time. Yeah, yeah. That could

Kev: Yeah.

Bright: impact the could certainly could impact the the game a little bit and who we're running out there, but You're going for twenty one straight.

Kev: They're going for top of the table.

Bright: You're you're going for top of the table in the West, right? Like this this is a huge matchup now. And and I guess I I don't know, did anybody see this coming? I mean we keep climbing the table. Vancouver hasn't been in the best run of form lately.

Kev: They haven't been in the best. I I was just looking at their last five games. Loss, win, draw, loss, draw. Like they haven't really strung together their best performances from what I can tell, just looking at results.

Bright: Yeah, one, two, and two over their last five. so their last win, I think, was against Rael Salt Lake. So three consecutive matchups without without a victory. And of course we already beat them in Vancouver three to one. So now now we have them at home. one Yeah, yeah, yeah. Mueller

Kev: With with a different team. By the way. Completely different team. Playing that one.

Bright: missed the last game with a hamstring issue. So I don't know what his status is right now for Wednesday night. now and then who else? somebody picked up a red card too. blackman. He saw, yeah, straight red against LAFC like in the seventh minute, like pretty early on. And and they still managed a a draw on that game. So so he's out.

Kev: Yep.

Bright: It still leaves their big guy, Brian White. Right. He's got seventeen goals on the year. so we still need to watch out for him. But without Blackman and possibly without Mueller, that would be huge for us. And

Kev: Yeah.

Bright: and I don't know if there's any stopping us right now anyway, especially at home. on the road is a different story, maybe, but at home we're we're just rolling. So who do we play? Who who are you expecting to see?

Kev: Yeah. Well I I was gonna mention last game I think is my lineup that I'm rolling out there. minus the shift in in the backfield with with the knot and then.

Bright: Well, McNaughton was the only Yeah. Could be Orasco, could be Fall. I feel like he got three legitimate guys at that position now and anybody who's yeah.

Kev: Yeah. I feel like I like ball a lot in there. So that that would probably be the one change that I might make within the lineup. But going into Wednesday's game and just knowing the route that we have and the number of games we have over the next couple weeks. You know, we've talked about it and we talked about it last podcast. You can make some we have the opportunity to make some changes. So I'm not gonna be surprised if we do see some changes specifically up top in our attackers.

Bright: Yeah, I just don't know though. May n I'm starting to think maybe on Saturday's matchup

Kev: Digital.

Bright: we got Minnesota on Saturday on the road.

Kev: Yeah, that's a good point. It feels easier.

Bright: Yeah, and now Navajo, he's

Kev: On the roof.

Bright: he's pretty fit. So he's used to starting and he's used to playing most of the game. And given his form, certainly his stock has been up since the beginning, but it's way up now. And same with Hulsa, right? Like can you do you not start Hulsa

Kev: Yeah.

Bright: after a hat trick?

Kev: You could.

Bright: Ma yeah, I I don't know, maybe Matan, but he also played played pretty decently.

Kev: feel like he's been he's been strong lately just really liking the play out of Mot Matan. you feel like you know you got Betcher, you got Sang Ben. I it just I it surprises me. If we had brought them in earlier last game in the 60th minute you know then then it's like well rule out the same lineup

Bright: Yeah. Right. Sure. It gives you a little bit more flexibility.

Kev: don't even think twice about it right

Bright: Yeah. Yeah.

Kev: But what we say like they were in until the the seventy fifth minute, the eightieth minute? Like

Bright: Yeah, eightieth eightieth minute. Eightieth minute, yeah.

Kev: that's I I don't know, it's just extra minutes that they were eating up in their legs.

Bright: Yeah, Twelman even said it because Navajo went down at one point with a kick to the shin, obviously nothing serious.

Kev: Mm.

Bright: But Twellman's like, what is he still doing in the game? Get him out. Like the game is over. Like, why are you risking

Kev: Yeah.

Bright: injury? especially as the galaxy are frustrated, right? Like

Kev: Yeah.

Bright: things can get a little crazy. They didn't, for the most part.

Kev: Choppy. Get choppy.

Bright: yeah, they can. I I almost don't know how you don't run out there with essentially the same lineup after a match like that against the number one team and and see what happens. Now there's a couple

Kev: I'll kick when they're down.

Bright: Yeah, yeah, exactly. There's a couple of other things to think about here, though. Now, yes, we have Minnesota on Saturday. So with the Sunday matchup, you have Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday. So three.

Kev: That's tight.

Bright: Yeah, three games in one week. And let's see, w the standings here. So Minnesota is currently in fourteenth place. Minus nine goal differential. Not the best squad, right? So so you have that, but then you have the U.S. Open Cup a week from tomorrow, the final in Columbus. And

Kev: Mm-hmm. And we talked about it.

Bright: Navajo cannot play in that that game. He's cup tight. So

Kev: Yeah, good good call out. Forgot about that. Yep.

Bright: Yeah, so he's a hundred percent out. So

Kev: Yep.

Bright: does that impact things? So you know you're gonna have to play Betcher on Wednesday.

Kev: You know you know, he has his scheduled rest day, right? Like

Bright: Right.

Kev: yeah, that can change things.

Bright: So that's the thing. So you do Yeah, do you play Betcher Wednesday, Navajo Saturday, and then you go back to Betcher next Wednesday US Open Cup. And essentially you're just kind of rotating them. Not that Navajo can't come in off the bench. Or do you start Navajo but you put him on a you put him on a stopwatch, right? Like he yeah, he gets forty-five minutes or he gets fifty-five minutes. But when you start him, the way that he's been playing. Like he can he can impact the game so quickly he he gets a goal yeah, he gets a goal or two.

Kev: It's so tough not to. So tough not to. And the way that like that first goal, I think was the first goal, the way that they were pressuring us in the back, and we were able to really bring that ball up for a quick play to Navarro. Navajo. I want to say Navarro. and then his

Bright: Either one. It was the second goal second goal.

Kev: second goal, okay, and the way he was able to just hold on to that ball. Put the pressure on with, you know, his his forward dribbling and then that play over. So phenomenal. Like, I don't think Fletcher's

Bright: Yeah, yeah. He Yeah, he he got the ball. He

Kev: doing that.

Bright: No, not like that. No. And Betcher, honestly, Betcher would take the foul. He he would get the ball and then he'd take the foul and and gives them plenty of

Kev: Yeah. Well, probably true. Yeah, that's probably true, right?

Bright: time to get back. Our guys get a little bit of a rest. Like that's what Betcher does. And sometimes that's okay. But This is what we've been saying. If you go back to the beginning of this podcast, that's what we were saying about like betcher's just not and I I mean the beginning of this podcast at the beginning of the season, not that this episode, right?

Kev: Early, early. Yeah, yeah.

Bright: But yeah, that's what we said. Like you need a true number nine and Navajo is that. And that second goal was a prime example where we just We're clearing it out of the back because we had pressure. It finds its way up to him. He's able to make the turn, beat one guy, and then immediately starts running forward, putting the pressure on their other defensemen. And so he he was just going backwards and then Hulsa recognizes the diagonal run and so does Navajo to his credit makes the play. And I thought maybe the goalie was a little bit out of position, but Hulsa takes it one time and blasts it, buries it with the left foot. It was a great goal. And yes, that's what Navajo brings. And even the first goal, right, like Could the ref have called the blown the whistle, called the foul? He probably could have. It was not a foul. But I think most referees probably in that situ. No, most referees in that situation

Kev: No. It was not a foul. No, not yet.

Bright: probably give the benefit of the doubt to the the the defending player. And so credit to this this ref for not doing that. And especially as you look at the replay. Navajo didn't do anything. He just put a little pressure on the guy. The guy goes down, he slips, whatever. And and yeah. Now

Kev: I don't even think he touched him. I think he just fell down.

Bright: He did. He did. He and Navajo was just there. But just again, putting putting a little bit of pressure on him, right? And even Navajo's last goal, he he was just in space. And again, credit to Durkin for finding him. And then again, just one touch. And that's what he brings to this team. He can score at any moment. He puts pressures on. He's a big guy. And that's why I'm almost like y you have to play him. At least give him the first forty five, fifty, fifty five minutes and see if he can get you a goal or two.

Kev: You're not there for ten minutes, right? And kinda do that cloud sub at the eleven minute mark. Because we're gonna be up to nothing.

Bright: Yeah. Yeah.

Kev: You know, you gotta feel good about it. Eleven minutes in the game, we're up two nothing. Let's get him out of there.

Bright: It's possible.

Kev: I mean, think about how quickly we've been scoring all of these goals in the last couple of

Bright: What?

Kev: games. We have a a goal within the first ten minutes of like the last three or four games, I swear.

Bright: Yes. And we're unbeaten when we score first. So I think that's another

Kev: Well yeah.

Bright: huge thing when we're scoring this early and you're not giving away those comeback wins. I know we've had a couple of draws. I still go back to that Dallas game, that really hurt us. But I think we even talked about it, we definitely did last episode that the galaxy had a couple of comeback wins or draws and in their last several games. And we said, hey, we want to go out there and we want to score early. And we did just that because the galaxy were giving up early goals. So we were spot on with our assessment there. We were I we were spot on last go go listen to our last episode if you haven't listened to it yet. And we we didn't get the score predictions right, but we said that City was going to win that game. We said we wanted to put pressure on the galaxy early and score early Early goals, we did. We said we had to hold off a a galaxy comeback, we did. And we said Klaus was going to score, and he did. So we were four for four or five for five with our predictions in in that game. So I'll take it. Now to wrap up in the the next couple minutes here, right now they're they're showing a forty-two percent chance for for City to win this game. So we were I think at like sixty six or something for the galaxy game. So you've seen it's starting to to level off going up against another team at the top of the table. But I still go back to the fact that we won in Vancouver three to one. And if you remember the odds for that game, they did not give us mus of a chance at all. And I know we

Kev: Yeah.

Bright: both bet on City to win just because the odds were so ridiculous.

Kev: Mods were so good. Yeah, the payout was so good.

Bright: So 42% chance here, 33% chance for Vancouver to win, 25% chance for the draw. So it might be it might be a game that you want to bet the draw just just because of the odds. We'll we'll see how it shakes out closer to game time. But what's your what's your score prediction? What are you doing? What are you betting? What do you what's happening Wednesday?

Kev: You know, my my hard after last game wants to go four to one. but I

Bright: Yeah.

Kev: will say we've got a two nil victory. We're gonna get a clean sheet.

Bright: Wow, all right. I like it. I'll I'll stick with three one. I I agreed. I would love a four one game. Obviously Vancouver is a better team than the Galaxy. So I d I I don't think we can expect another massive

Kev: Be too much.

Bright: performance on the score sheet. But but right, I mean I think we're gonna we're gonna see goals from

Kev: Yeah. If we do.

Bright: Navajo, from from Holsa, from Betcher. Like I think we're just in that position now where you expect us to score. We're going to score goals. And other other teams are gonna have to find a way to slow down scoring or score more than we are. So yep. Yep. I think they

Kev: Ex yeah. It's a tough it's a tough gambit to

Bright: they still have some dangerous pieces. So we we have to watch out for that. We'll wait and see if Mueller's gonna play. I think that can make a big difference too. And and we'll see who DeMay shuffles in here. but again, like player stock. Navajo, Hulsa, Totland, Durkin, all had great games. Betcher, he didn't play a lot. Wallem, I feel like his his stock has evened out a little bit. It's still up nine assists and ten games or something like that. And then just to wrap up, Wallum had a five five, Totland had a five four, so both of them a little bit of a leveling off on the last game. Hulsa nine seven, Navajo nine three, Maton eight zero, Durkin seven zero, McNaughton seven. Right? So good performance overall from from those guys.

Kev: Yeah, I I bet their back line is just a bunch of twos. feels good.

Bright: Well four yeah they're back line four five four five four eight five zero Klaus

Kev: Yeah.

Bright: Klaus got a seven four so he had the the highest ranking on on their squad yeah yeah so so that's I mean that's it

Kev: there you go. Getting the girl. Yeah. Yeah.

Bright: That's it. We'll see where it goes. I will be able to watch the game. I'll be in my hotel room watching the game. Maybe I'll order room service and just take it easy Wednesday night. I don't know if we'll have the opportunity to come back and do another pod, recapping the game. If we do, it might have to be like Saturday morning or something like that.

Kev: If not, we'll push out a blog, so a blog

Bright: There you go. Yes.

Kev: post.

Bright: We'll we'll see how it goes. But I love that we have a bunch of games in the short period of time. Lots of lots of fun. And it certainly helps it certainly helps when we're winning. So especially when we're winning money too. I've I'm I'm

Kev: Yes, it does. All right. Yeah.

Bright: way up. I'm up hundreds of dollars over this run.

Kev: Within the first minute it's like, here you go. Plus

Bright: Yeah.

Kev: plus seven hundred of your bet. Like, come on, that was that was awesome. So

Bright: But but then I'm betting more. Like that's the thing. I I hedge yeah, I like is that what it's called the hedging your bet? You you hit a bet or a double down. That's really what it is. I'm doubling down. I win a bet and then I'll take some of those winnings and I place another bet. And then I win that bet too.

Kev: Yeah. W when I win that early, it's like, well, let's put a little bit more money on the game and keep it interesting, so For sure. I'll take it though.

Bright: For for sure, for sure. All right. Well, I I won't be able to bet 'cause I'll be, like I said, out of the country. So no bets for me on this game, but I'll be watching. Let's bring home a winner, have fun. Hopefully the rain holds out for you. but it'll be a good matchup for sure. And when we come back, our next pod, we might be talking about first in the west, top of the table. That's right. All right. Peace.

Kev: table. Love it. All right. See ya.
