Bright and Duds are finally in the same room.
For the first-ever in-person NFNP recording, the guys settle in with a few beers while the Blues are finishing a wild comeback in New Jersey, then somehow end up spending the next hour and a half talking about death, politics, money, AI, soccer, old-school internet scams and whether robots listen to podcasts in their downtime.
It’s a normal NFNP episode, basically.
This week:
* The Blues erase a three-goal deficit before falling in overtime, plus a conversation about player safety, neck guards and some brutal hockey injuries from the past.
* “Death Is Everywhere” takes over the show with the Florida Learjet crash, the 24-year-old New York City Marathon runner who collapsed near the finish, the death of a European soccer player after an on-field collision, and the 21-year-old college hockey captain killed in a wrong-way crash.
* Bright and Duds break down the 2026 midterm results, Democrats taking control of Congress, the massive shift in Texas, and what the results actually say about voters.
* The conversation spills into inflation, the stock market, debt, retirement, the coming generational wealth transfer and why being an Xennial might actually be a pretty good place to be.
* Bright explains his increasingly ridiculous AI setup, including ChatGPT Work, reprogramming his television, cleaning up thousands of emails, AI-generated NFNP episodes, voice cloning, automated trailers and the possibility of adding an AI intern to the show.
* CITY SC Posse gets a quick Decision Day preview as St. Louis heads to Houston needing a result to lock down home-field advantage in the playoffs.
And yes, this was our first attempt at recording NFNP together in person. The conversation felt better. The microphones looked cooler. The technology had other ideas. We discovered a few audio issues afterward, because apparently putting two podcasters, two laptops and multiple microphones in the same room is slightly more complicated than “plug everything in and hit record.”
Fortunately, AI helped us repair the audio enough to save the episode.
